Apple turns the Mac vs Windows PC debate on its head.

Now that every new Mac includes the new Intel Core or Core 2 chip, the debate about which computer to buy, Mac or Windows PC, is dead. Now, the debate is: Mac that runs the the advanced UNIX based MacOS X and Windows, or a PC .. that just runs Windows.

Get a Mac that does more or "Just a PC"

Get the best of both worlds, without giving up a thing.

Why a Mac? Between June of 05 and June of 06, over 40,000 new pieces of “Malware” (Viruses, trojans, spyware, rootkits, etc) were unleashed on users of Windows. None of these effect the MacOS. Running Windows on your Mac using Parallels or other virtualization software allows you to “Sandbox” Windows and any potential Malware infection away from the MacOS and all your Mac apps. You get to keep using your Windows software, some of which may not have a Mac version, and continue to be productive in Microsoft Office for the Mac, QuickBooks 2007 for the Mac, Quark, your email, web surfing, Apple’s iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, Photoshop, and more on the MacOS.

Does that mean I can stop practicing “Safe Computing”?

No, JWD TECH still recommends that all users practice “Safe Computing” and common sense while reading email, and surfing the web. This includes not opening attachments in email from strangers, or from friends that never send you attachments, and being weary of websites that offer “Free” anything. JWD TECH always advises that Mac and Windows users back up their important data regularly.

But Macs cost too much? NO!

Not at all! In fact, most Macs cost the same, or are less expensive, than a comparably equipped Dell, HP, or Sony PC. Interesting comparisons can be found at: http://www.systemshootouts.org/

Before your next purchase, tell JWD TECH how you use your PC, and anything you’d like to learn to do in the future. A Mac may be the best choice. JWD TECH won’t push you into buying something that won’t work best for you. Computers are tools, some people prefer Craftsman, some prefer Snap-on. JWD TECH always strives to give its clients the best “Bang for the Buck” possible.
